Emilie Viennois

I obtained a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Physiology in 2011 from Université Blaise Pascal (Clermont-Fd, France). From 2012 to 2019, I was a post-doctoral associate and then assistant professor at Georgia State University, where I have started to develop my independent research niche on miRNAs and host-microbiota interaction with the support of two successive funding from the Crohn’s and colitis Foundation. I gained expertise on miRNAs research, intestinal physiology, colitis-mouse models, IBD, inflammation, colorectal cancer, microbiota and miRNA high-throughput data analysis and biomarker studies. With the support of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Individual Fellowships – now completed, I relocated my research activity to the CRI in the team of J-P Hugot, and was simultaneously recruited as a full-time tenured researcher by INSERM. My current research goals seek to identify new therapeutic strategies acting on the host/microbiota interactions in the context of IBD and other dysbiosis-associated disorders, to prevent disturbance and/or restore homeostasis.
