Together in Peace

Lakeville will host its 5th Annual International Day of Living Together in Peace (IDLTP) celebration at
Casperson Park, marking a vibrant tradition of unity, inclusion, and grassroots peace-building.
Organized by Together in Peace (TIP) – Ensemble en Paix, the event will feature multicultural
performances, a community choir, cultural booths, the unveiling of a peace pole, and a free
community lunch. This year’s theme centers on peace-oriented education, inviting people of all ages to
explore how learning and dialogue can foster lasting understanding.
TIP was inspired by the vision of Sheikh Khaled Bentounes, founder of the IDLTP initiative and Honorary
President of AISA International NGO. His call to make peace a daily practice has deeply shaped TIP’s
mission.
Lakeville proudly holds the distinction of being the only U.S. city to oNicially celebrate IDLTP annually
since 2021, thanks to the continued support of numerous civic and cultural partners and the undeniable
presence of Mayor Luke Hellier for the past two years. TIP is also working to establish a national network
of mayors dedicated to spreading this peace-focused mission across the country.
“This celebration is more than an event—it’s a living expression of our community’s shared hope,
connection, and commitment to a more peaceful future,” says TIP President Khaled Elabdi.
