Haneke Twins is a Greek/Swiss outfit that emerged from the Geneva underground scene in 2018. With several releases in their pocket, including three albums, they propose an explosive guitar-driven post-punk sound away from clichés.
Haneke Twins released ’No Choice’, a brand-new single on January 17th, 2025. The band picks up where they left off with the edgier tracks of ‘Stories of Violence’, their most recent release to date. ‘No Choice’ feels like a natural continuation of ‘Feel the Burn’, ‘Enough’, ‘Missiles’ and ‘Running Away’ from their magnum opus released in autumn 2023. With ‘No Choice’, Haneke Twins keep defying music genre conventions and once again blur the lines between them. As it is often the case with their lyrics dealing with political and social subjects, their new single is no exception. ‘No Choice’ is about people left with very few options, if any, as a result of politics repeatedly in favour of the powerful at the expense of the underprivileged.
Haneke Twins are Stefanos Leontsinis & Andrés G. Delannoy on guitars, Emil Koulouris on drums, Paul Aspell on bass, and Paschalis Vichoudis on vocals. Originally started in 2018 as a duo comprised of Leontsinis and Vichoudis, the band later grew to five and is centered between Geneva and Zurich. Once again, the band entrusted the mixing, mastering and production to Costas Verigas, who is largely responsible for the band’s unique sound since its very inception. A sound that the media at times compared with a large variety of artists ranging from legendary acts such as Joy Division and Interpol to punkier outfits such as T.S.O.L, Savages and IDLES.

Haneke Twins released three albums to date:
“Haneke Twins” EP [self-released | 2018].
“Astronaut” mini-LP [The Animal Farm Music (London) | 2021].
“Stories of Violence” LP [Urgence Disk Records (Geneva) | 2023].
The band’s name is a reference to the dark and edgy Austrian film director, who in his works has well illustrated the sense of alienation of the individual in modern society.
Haneke Twins have already performed in several top-tier venues, having as highlight their appearance as opening act for the dark-wave legends She Wants Revenge in Athens, Greece in September 2023. For the promotion of their brand-new single, a series of shows in planned, starting in Italy on February 2025.

“Pur essendo così vigoroso e dritto in faccia, contiene aria e respiro, un equilibrio delicato che esalta ogni singolo elemento della produzione, sezione ritmica in primis, sincopata eppure così lineare all’ascolto” (Confederation Music – RSI Radiotelevisione svizzera).
“Splendidly angular, ’No Choice’ is all the proof you will ever need that post-punk bleakness and the arthouse are now, and always have been, bosom buddies. Kudos to Haneke Twins for pulling this time-traveller out of their hat” (Bluesbunny Webzine UK)
“With its darkly poetic lyrics, haunting vocals, and dynamic instrumentation, the track is inviting listeners to immerse themselves in its hypnotic embrace” (Skylight Webzine)

“Cold, arctic guitars rip through the songs like shards of ice, and a baritone voice thunders and chills: it really is post-punk of the highest degree” (Backseat Mafia)
“Interpol influences run through ’Stuck in a Loop’ but also give way to the band’s own mordant outlook and intense sound that blazes at times with wiry guitars fire” (Rebel Noise)
“This Paul Banks style vocal is so soothing and melodic. I enjoyed the driving rhythm that really carries the tune” (Independent Music Reviews)
